A National Initiative | Coming to Rio Rancho October 6, 2025

On October 6, 2025, communities across the country will come together to confront gun violence through the power of storytelling. As part of this national initiative, six short plays—written by teens and selected from a nationwide call—will be performed in staged readings on the same evening by schools, theaters, and arts organizations coast to coast.

Open Arts Studio, in partnership with Rio Rancho Creative Crossroads, is proud to bring this powerful event to Rio Rancho for the first time. Our staged reading will feature local students, artists, and community members lending their voices to this urgent conversation.

Together, we can spark dialogue, inspire change, and honor the voices of young people who are calling for a safer future.

We’re currently building our team and would love for you to be part of it—whether as a performer, volunteer, sponsor, or audience member.

Help Young Voices Be Heard: Support ENOUGH! Plays to End Gun Violence

Gun violence is one of the most pressing issues facing young people today—and they’re ready to speak out.

This fall, we're producing a staged reading of ENOUGH! Plays to End Gun Violence, a national initiative empowering teens to confront gun violence through the power of theater. In our local production, students will take center stage to share stories, raise awareness, and inspire change—all through original, hard-hitting short plays written by teens across the country.

This entire event is volunteer- and donation-driven. Your support will help us:

  1. Cover production expenses (space, supplies, tech needs)
  2. Provide a powerful platform for youth voices
  3. Donate the remaining funds to New Mexicans to Prevent Gun Violence, a 501(c)3 non-partisan organization whose mission is to reduce firearm injury and death through public health, education, advocacy, and public awareness, in order to protect the safety of our families and communities.

By donating, you’re not only helping make this performance possible—you’re helping amplify the next generation's call for change.

Donate today. Stand with our students. Help end gun violence.
